Pier Maria Giordani

Pier Maria Giordani was born in Parma in 1969. Since 2008 he is PhD in Architectural Composition at the Politecnic School of Milan. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnic School of Milan with Prof. Antonio Monestiroli.
He has been Architectural Composer of the Matter at the University of Parma and then from 2002 to 2010 at the Politecnic School of Milan. He has collaborated with the architect Aurelio Cortesi in many projects at the beginning of his career.
In 2011 he founded, with Antonella Marzi, Chen Zhen and Mario Scaffardi, the Recs Architects studio, of which is CEO, with offices in Parma, Milan, Belo Horizonte, Chengdu and Dubai.
In 2012 he is a consultant to WDCE Company in Beijing for redesigning the city of Boutou in Southern Mongolia. In 2013 Recs opens a studio branch in Fortaleza, Brazil, shifted in Belo Horizonte since 2018 and directed by Janaina Massote.
In 2013 he participated as a leader in the international competition for the Helsinki National Library and ranked first in the Best Upper Class. In 2014 he designs the first Smart City in social housing in the world at Croatà, Brazil, currently under construction, and in July 2015 presents her at the Expo of Milan within the Pavilion of Brazil. In 2016 Recs Architects designs the first Smart Square of Italy in Turin, Piazza Risorgimento, realized in the same year. In 2017 Recs opens the studio branch in Dubai and in 2018 opens astudio in Chengdu.
From 2000 to today, many of his achievements are in Italy and abroad: urban spaces, buildings and interiors. In 2011 he was ranked fourth in the competition for the redevelopment of P.zza Ferdinando di Savoia in Peschiera del Garda. In 2009 he was appointed by the Municipality of Parma for the upgrading of Piazza Corridoni, in the historic center of the city.
In 2008, he was ranked fourth in the Competition for Urban Reconstruction of Piazza del Malgher in Pozza di Fassa. In 2006, he was ranked third in the “Competition of Ideas for the Urban Reconstruction of Piazza Micheli in Berceto”. In 2005 he participated in the Third International Seminar on Museography. International Award for Architecture and Archeology “Gianbattista Piranesi” at Villa Adriana, Tivoli-Rome.
He is ranked first at the “National Competition of Ideas: New Popular Italian House”.
In 2005 he also participated in the Urban Life Design Seminar. Beijing case. High-speed urbanism. International workshop B.J.U.T. (China) & M.P.U. (Italy) “University of Technology, Beijing. His project was announced at the “European Space Design Contest: Five Squares for Catania. Piazza Montessori “. In 2004 he set up the exhibition “The paperwork, the digital, the built” on the construction of Eurotorri shopping center Aurelio Cortesi at the 1st Parma Architecture Festival. He edited the essays entitled Architecture and Entrepreneurship and The Representative Form, being published.
